Should we sell our house for an apartment?

my husband and I are 24 and 25 year olds and we own a home. we have triplets and 1 on the way currently but we just can’t afford this house. it’s over 50% of our monthly income and it’s especially a massive burden on my husband as I’m a SAHM and he’s the breadwinner. we have a 7% interest rate and the property tax’s in our area are high. our house is completely brand new inside and out as we redid literally everything and it hasn’t been re appraised. It’s otherwise a 100 yr old house. So we assume just with that we’d make money off it.

do we sell our house, make money from it and look into getting an apartment /townhome to rent that’s 500-600$ cheaper than we pay now? Or is this dumb. It’s a fresh idea we talked about for maybe 30 minutes so we have much more to talk about yet and will think on it for a while of course. Thanks in advance.
