Boyer Cabin Off-Road Adventure
Huge thank you to everyone who shared info about heading north of A Cross Rd toward Boyer Cabin!
We spent some time exploring the area and ended up taking Forest Road 97 in. Things got pretty exciting when we had a flat tire from a slashed side wall on one of the shelf roads climbing up toward Thompson Mesa. Luckily, we had already made it through the steep drop and climb out of the wash. Not ideal, but honestly, it was a beautiful spot for a flat as you can see from the photos! The views were unreal. By the time we finished swapping the tire, it was sunset, so we didn’t roll into Boyer Cabin until after dark.
We took FR 895 out from the cabin. We could see from the OnX Offroad maps that this road weaved through some new canyons and it was another beautiful drive. Not technical but very rewarding. This entire loop turned out to be a really fun route for the Unimog. It was challenging in all the right ways and the Mog handled it like a champ. Conditions out there right now are absolutely beautiful. The grass is that bright neon green! Truly such a stunning time to be out explorin
