From its humble beginnings in Boston, USA in 1998, Shark has grown into a global leader in both cleaning appliances and hair styling tools, expanding its business to 35 countries and regions.

In 1998, Mark Rosenzweig founded the Shark brand in Boston, USA. Leveraging Euro-Pro's century-long legacy of quality, the brand transcended the limitations of traditional cleaning products, focusing on developing high-performance cleaning equipment tailored to the actual needs of families, marking the first step in its innovative journey. From its inception, Shark established a core positioning of "technology for all," rejecting the high-premium pricing model of high-end brands and striving to make technology accessible to ordinary families. This philosophy laid the foundation for its subsequent expansion into hair styling tools.

From 2007 to 2010, Shark continued to break new ground in the cleaning appliance field, launching its first steam mop (Original Steam Mop), the No Loss Suction Vacuum vacuum cleaner with undiminished suction power, and the Lift-away Vacuum cordless vacuum cleaner, ushering in the era of cordless cleaning and quickly establishing its position in the North American market. With the rise of personal care needs in households, Shark has keenly seized market opportunities and gradually expanded into the hair styling tool sector, initiating a dual-track development model of "cleaning + hair styling," committed to providing users with one-stop home and personal care solutions.

In 2021, Shark officially launched its hair styling tool series, starting with the Shark Style IQ intelligent high-performance hair dryer. Leveraging its core advantages of fast drying and no heat damage, it quickly gained market attention, marking the brand's official entry into the personal care field. In 2022, the brand continued its momentum, launching the multi-functional styling tool, the Shark FlexStyle. This product allows users to switch between hair dryer and styling stick modes by rotating the knob, achieving various styling needs such as curling, straightening, volumizing, and smoothing, balancing efficiency and hair care. Upon its launch, it became a best-selling product in the hair styling category, solidifying Shark's industry position in the hair styling tool sector.

Based on its market experience in cleaning appliances and innovative breakthroughs in hair styling tools, Shark continues to rise in the global market. In 2011, the brand was recognized as one of the fastest-growing companies in the US. In 2014, it began its international expansion, quickly becoming a leader in the UK vacuum cleaner market after entering the market. From 2015 to 2018, it ranked first in US floor care product sales for four consecutive years. In the hair care business, the brand has continuously enriched its product line, launching the Shark Flex Fusion and SpeedStyle series, covering a full range of products including straighteners, curling irons, and styling combs. Leveraging its core advantages such as Flex Fusion™ styling technology and 1000 temperature adjustments per second, it achieves "wet and dry use, no heat damage, and scalp protection," suitable for all hair types and highly favored by consumers worldwide.

While expanding globally, Shark has always adhered to "localized innovation." In 2016, the brand established a research and development and testing center in Suzhou, China, to handle the localization of research and development for both cleaning appliances and hair styling tools; it officially entered the Chinese market in 2018.

In 2023, Shark's parent company, SharkNinja, officially listed on the New York Stock Exchange, with its market capitalization continuing to climb, demonstrating its strong growth potential. With over two decades of dedicated development, Shark has accumulated more than 5,200 product patents, building a solid technological moat. Its dual businesses of cleaning and hair care develop synergistically, and its strategy of "high-end technology at mid-range prices" has broken industry monopolies, benefiting millions of families worldwide. In 2025, SharkNinja was listed among Time magazine's "100 Most Influential Companies in the World," further solidifying its global industry position.
