Interested in a safe gun

I want a gun to fuck around with inside my apartment, but I want it to be the best. I want it to be similar to airsoft in terms of power, but I also need it to be able to not severely hurt anyone or break anything when I mess around with this thing drunk. (This is sparked by me really wanting to shoot an apple off of my roommates head) For context I live in a densely populated area in Boston, so outside is not rlly an option.

Idk if this is possible but would like any insights or recommendations before I go trial and error in purchasing
