Home owners insurance suggestions?
Man. It’s starting to feel like a real racket. We have a 100 year old craftsman in good shape, in Washington Heights. No major issue, only minor, like peeling paint on some trim and an old-ish roof. We had AAA, and they dropped us after their exterior inspection (that they did while we weren’t home), and now our new insurer is demanding that we: 1): have the roof inspected, 2): get our trim painted, and 3): have our tree trimmed (that we just spent $1,000 getting trimmed this Fall already) by 3/5! Unreal. (We pushed back on the deadline for a painter so now they’re just requiring a sign contract by then).
Is anyone else experiencing these more stringent inspections?
Wondering if anyone actually likes their homeowners insurance company and has decent coverage.
