30M – Torn between moving abroad for manual work or staying to finish architecture. Need honest advice.

Advice 🙋‍♂️🙋‍♀️

Hi everyone. I’m 30 years old from Mexico and I feel stuck in life.

I started architecture years ago but stopped during the pandemic. I’m more than halfway through, but I lost motivation and have been inactive for a long time. I recently told my family the truth and now there’s pressure to finish.

I had a job opportunity in Saskatchewan (roofing in Prince Albert). I stepped back because my brother said I was running away from my unfinished degree. Now I regret it.

My dilemma:

Option 1 – Go to Canada, work manual labor (roofing or similar), gain independence, save money, and figure out what I really want.
Option 2 – Stay in Mexico, finish architecture (which would take more than a year), and delay everything else.
Option 3 – Try a completely different country like New Zealand for a fresh start.

My fears:

  • Staying and feeling stuck again.
  • Leaving and realizing I was just running away.
  • Wasting more years.
  • Making a decision based on fantasy instead of strategy.

What would you do at 30 in this situation? Especially if your main goal was personal growth and independence, not just money.

Be brutally honest.
