Can I change the size of my usable screen?

I'm not sure how to explain this but a portion of my screen is black, it still has tactile response but I can't see anything in the red portion of the image, is there a way to make the interface smaller? I'm sick of guessing where the x is in the adds or having to screenshot everything because most of the damn buttons are in the upper part of the screen? My cellphone is a Redmi note 11
