Downtown Mount Vernon

I see they're starting construction on a new 21-story luxury high-rise in Downtown Mount Vernon called MVE Prospect Tower . What surprises me most is that it’s going to be 100% market-rate, with no affordable or low-income units.

I can see the appeal. It’s a great transit location — about a 28-minute train ride to Grand Central. It’s also centrally located in lower Westchester, so driving to other spots around the county or city is convenient.

Do you think this is the beginning of more building and a broader revitalization in Mount Vernon? Or is this just a one-off luxury project?
