If I could do it, you can too: How I became a veterinarian with a brain tumor

It wasn't easy at all. My story is truly a miracle. Four years ago, when I was halfway through my veterinary degree, I was diagnosed with a very deep tumor located in my hypothalamus. They discovered it because I was having vision problems. The day I was diagnosed, my world fell apart. I didn't think I would ever graduate; I thought I only had two years to live. In fact, the neurosurgeon told me the tumor had a high potential to be malignant. But I kept studying, I tried, I said I would do it for my mother. She became very ill at that time and passed away a few months later. But she gave me the strength to keep going. I had MRI scans every six months, and they came back normal, with no changes. But I was very afraid of the next scan because the doctor said it had the potential to grow.

Here we are. Yesterday I took my last exam and graduated as a veterinarian. Don't let anything stop you. My tumor has a very poor prognosis, but that didn't stop me, thanks to God and the people around me who gave me strength. Don't be afraid, this won't stop you! If I could do it, you can too!
