How I got 500 users yesterday on my SaaS from Reddit
Yesterday caught me off guard.
I woke up to notifications and realized about 500 new users came in within a single day — all from Reddit. No ads, no paid posts, no launch.
For context, I’m building Zenlance (https://zenlance.net) — a tool I built to solve problems I personally had as a freelancer: proposals, follow-ups, and staying organized.
What worked:
- I didn’t promote the product
- I shared what I was building and why
- I focused on the problem, not the tool
- I only linked it when people asked
Most of the traction came from comments, not the post itself. People related to the pain (proposal fatigue, messy client tracking, CRM overload), and curiosity did the rest.
A few things that mattered:
- being transparent about the product stage
- keeping it free and frictionless
- replying to every serious comment
- avoiding marketing language
No growth hacks or viral tricks. Just being present where the problem already exists.
500 users in a day isn’t success — but they’re real users, giving real feedback and actually using the product. That matters more than vanity numbers.
Happy to answer questions or share what didn’t work.
