# Full post attached

Hey all, Shirley here with another update! Shockingly, this one didn't take too long to finish, but I'd have felt bad releasing it within a week of v2.5.0 releasing, so I let that update sit for a while so you all would have a chance to check out... well, at least SOME of what the update has to offer. That time is up though, so let's get into the new stuff.

1: Have you ever thought of sports while playing PyNori? Let me guess: no. BUT... now you've at least thought of sports while reading a PyNori devlog... which is close enough! Why not celebrate by playing golf... IN PyNori??? I've made it so battle rewards can now be modulated based on how quickly you kill an enemy! Faster kills = better rewards, while slower kills = pretty bad rewards (or, if you're slow enough, no reward at all). Enemies now have "pars" (the higher the difficulty, the higher the par to make the battle more fair), which is how the game determines whether your kill was faster/slower than usual. Yes, of course I used the same naming scheme when giving the usual scores names.

2: I've added a new option that, when enabled, allows the game to clear the screen more frequently if desired. It's not perfect (on rare occasions, the screen may refresh and only leave the "You chose " input prompt, and not every menu refreshes often), but it's better than nothing! This is turned on by default, but can be toggled off by selecting H in the Options Menu. (The GbRS is toggleable with G.)

3: Just like how there are victory jingles (added in v1.5.0, WOW that's old now), there are now flee jingles!

4: The healthbar overheal colour cycle has been extended to include lighter versions of the colours. The order is now as follows: green, cyan, blue, magenta, light green, light cyan, light blue, light magenta.

4.5 (technically an extension of #4): Galaxette's typewriter function has been updated to print in light cyan to differentiate from other cyan texts.

5: Galaxette's hints for phase 3 of the final battle have been expanded to change depending on your progress.

6: When using the Item Coupon, there's now a slight chance that you'll earn the ability to buy an item and get another for free (single-use). **Remember, deals aren't stored in your Save Data, so neither are buy-1-get-1-free chances!**

7: There's now a SNES version of the Tone Get sound effect! It has a 1 in 10 chance of playing when you collect a Tone.

Alright, I believe that's all in terms of what's new! Now it's time for the bugfixes.

1: If there are no patches available for a version due to the version being so new it doesn't even have an index on the Patch Storage GitHub repo, the game will now say there are no patches available instead of throwing an error due to "extra data".

2: Fixed more issues with Discord Rich Presence (missing data for certain screens, presence refusing to show when a minigame is being played). Also, in the overworld and most battles (excluding the final boss, of course), the Rich Presence now shows which character is currently focused.

3: When loading Save Data, the game now ensures the step count is an integer. I have NO CLUE HOW, but SOMEHOW it's possible to make the step count a float (decimal number). The issue has not been fixed, but now there's a failsafe in case this happens again.

4: When starting a new game on any difficulty other than Tryhard, characters' Max Vocal Points will no longer be cut in half due to a false positive. (If you have been affected by this bug, you must win minigames that promise max VP increases to get that back to normal... sorry.)

5: When EnterBattle() calls TestPowerscale() (if needed), the arguments are no longer passed in the wrong order.

6 (not a "bug"fix, but necessary because of the GbRS): EXP thresholds for levels 41 through 100 have been added.

7: The game will no longer throw a false negative when checking area populations (the newly added area for the Halloween Event previously threw this check off, which would cause the game to think Omnicide was not achieved when it actually was).

And that's about it! This is definitely not as big of an update as v2.5.0 was, but I at least hope the new mechanic is entertaining. Until next time, Shirley out!
