Wanting advice

Question

Hey so, I have always been a morbidly obese person. I am currently 5’6” and 300 pounds.

I have recently been trying to go outside more cause life is fleeting and all that.

My cousin and her s/o actually rented a yurt at curry Village in Yosemite and invited my sibling and I to join in just two weeks! I am super excited, but I am very much a beginner hiker. I don’t think I would even classify myself as a hiker, more like just an outside walker.

As I’ve been starting to try to prepare for this trip, I realized how much gear and specific clothing you need for hiking.

I have fat people feet so they’re pretty wide and flat and I would for sure need a wide hiking boot. But I’m poor so I found discounted one on Amazon I’m hoping will work.

I heard I need a good hiking, backpack and trekking poles so I’m looking on Amazon for those things.

Do you guys have any advice on what I might be missing? Or what type of brand I should look out for?

Also, what other exercises should I do to prepare for this trip as a fat person? Other than going on the treadmill and maybe stairmaster.

Side note, I plan to start taking Zepbound as needed starting tomorrow to try to have healthier eating habits, long-term. I don’t wanna take Zepbound every week, more like whenever I feel significant change in my appetite. Hopefully I do a lot of progress these next two weeks so that Yosemite is not just a waste on me.

TLDR: what exercises and other pieces of advice do you recommend a morbidly obese person to do before going on a two day trip to Yosemite?

Ps. I had to repost this cuz the first time the whole post didn’t go through.
