Painkillers don't work

I've only been prescribed two but both have the same result; for 30-45 minutes I get tired with less background aching, then it wears off and I feel everything more than I did before. After the first dose it doesn't work at all, I think I metabolize and build a tolerance to painkillers stupidly fast. I don't know if anything will work and my pain is getting worse by the day so that's fun
