How different/similar is working in aviation as a mechanic, compared to an automotive mechanic?

I've been in automotive since I graduated high-school (12 years now) and I recently received my mechanic license with an airframe rating. Im curious how the two careers compare. (shop dynamic, pay, management, work load, etc.)
