First Name given as middle name, masculine or feminine spelling for a baby boy?
Hi,
We are a French couple living in the US. Baby boy is due next month. We have the first name (yey!) but we now need to decide a last and middle name. My husband’s last name is kind of fancy, same style as “Lecoeur”, mine is really ugly and I am not in speaking term with my family, especially my dad as he is a convicted pedo.
Still, I wanted the baby to have my name too. My first name is quite original and I like it, so we are thinking to give my first name as middle name to the baby. My first name can be given to boy or girl. It sounds a bit like Raphaëlle. Question is, should the baby be called FirstName Raphael Lecoeur OR FirstName Raphaëlle Lecoeur?
Since he is a boy my husband thinks 1 makes more sense, but to me his middle name will be my first name, and If I was giving him my last name we wouldn’t change the way it’s spelled. Also if we have another kid, this other kid will also have the same middle name. What if it’s a girl? In a way using the masculine spelling of my first name kind of defeat the purpose, no? What do you think?
Thank you all!ma
