Question from a long-time player that had moved away - what is the current sentiment with Blizzard as a company and their handling of WoW?

:flairQuestion: Question

I've primarily played Classic since it released, but before that I had been playing off-and-on since TBC. I've more or less kept up with World of Wacraft on all fronts to some degree, just not so much over the last year or so though. At a certain point several years ago I jumped ship to other MMOs. Blizzard was just churning out messy slop, making the oddest design choices that were grossly anti-player, ramping back up to current content in retail was just a daunting mountain built upon years of FOMO and disjointed stories, and... yeah. I hit a breaking point and just quit.

That said, I'm interested in how Blizzard has been as of late (i.e. over the last expansion). Have they been better about pushing out reasonably polished updates? Decently engaging story / content? I've seen surveys float around here and there, are they more proactively gauging and responding to player sentiment? Is FOMO still their go-to tactic for spiking player engagement?

I mean the best here. People ask often if "it's worth it to come back" with no further context. This is just me going down my checklist. :)
