Good Laptop recommendations for gaming, and everyday use?

I’m a college student who’s borrowing a laptop from school while I save up for my own, and I wanted some good recommendations if anyone has them. My budget is about $1,000--$1,200. I’m looking for a laptop that I could use to run small games because I’ve been wanting to play Stardew valley with mods or like wizard 101, as well as being able to use it for my everyday life like school or work. Im just looking for something that’s decently good performance, and sound. I’m not looking for anything crazy to run like monster hunter or major computer apps. I just want something I can play a few games, while storing my notes, documents, photos. Any help or recommendations are greatly appreciated thank you.
