I live in the Pacific Northwest we're doing the late fall early winners we typically have very strong wind storms. My Crosstrek had been dodging falling branches for the first year I had it, but this last October, 2025 I wasn't so lucky.

The good parking spots in my complex were taken by visiting people, so I had to park my subie in the gravel lot that had a row of pine trees.

Sometime late October that wind strom came, and went. The next day I saw a large brunch sitting next to my car. At first, I didn't notice anything because it's dark until 8am, but found the two tennis ball size dents on the passenger side panel a few weeks later while running errands.

I still didn't think much about it. Until I noice water was leaking in from the window mold. I was flabbergasted because There's no external damage to indicate that the branch hit it.

The only thing that could have contribute to that leak would have been the fact last summer I had the whole windshield replaced, and maybe the dealership didn't set the molding up correctly or rushed it and all it took was just a little bit of wear and tear the cause of the open up, I don't know.

After all said and done it cost my insurance $4,000 and me I have to pay out a deductible of 1,000. Fix auto did a great job. The whole car looks like i just bought it today.

Just did some body work on my Crosstrek 2024.
