CDM role is basically pointless right now and it makes zero sense

I genuinely do not understand what the point of a CDM in FC is anymore. The CM AI literally does everything. It tracks back, wins the ball, presses forward, supports the attack, and somehow still drops back like a CDM with DLP++.

So what exactly is the CDM supposed to do that a CM isn’t already doing automatically? It just feels like EA mashed CDM, CM, and CAM responsibilities together into "CM" and called it a day.

It kills any formation in midfield setups because CDMs stop mattering. Why think about CDMs when one position can apparently do the job of three? Hence why everyone is literally using either 451/4411
