Y-reg (2001) 6N2 Polo 1.4 MPI ABS System Failure

Hi all,

The ABS warning lamp is on on my polo. I did an OBD-II scan and got a code for a CAN Bus failure. I understand this could be why the warning lamp is showing (abs module not talking to ecu or something). I also have been told that the actual ABS wheel sensors are prone to going on thr 6N2 Polo.

My question is, would a faulty ABS wheel sensor cause the CAN Bus failure code? Or is it more likely to be something else?
