0.5 vs 0.7 Jetstream, which is less likely to be a dud or fail later on?

Question

I've grown SO TIRED of buying jetstream refills only to find out that they can't even write properly after a few days of use. I don't remember dropping them because I know they instantly get incapacitated after dropping, yet they still find a way to no longer work despite not dropping them. I remember buying a pen that came with a 0.7 refill and I remember not facing any problems with it (or at least it still continued to write legibly) and I was actually able to finish it. Does width actually make a difference when it comes to the likelyhood of it working properly for longer?

Has anyone observed this? I don't want to keep on spending on refills that I can't finish...🫩
