Manual Driver Update vs Windows Driver Update

I’ve noticed that sometimes Windows installs versions that messes with Adrenalin.
Is it better to just let Windows Update handle the GPU driver installations, or is it still highly recommended to do it manually via the AMD website?

Also, is there a way to disable Windows driver updates specifically for the GPU without turning off updates for the rest of my hardware? I want my OS security patches, but I want Windows to keep its hands off my Radeon drivers.

Any specific tools or registry tweaks you guys recommend to lock this down?
