Work Experience as a Scottish Law Student

Hello! I am a first-year law student at a Scottish university who is seeking work experience in order to strengthen my CV for later vacation scheme and traineeship applications. As law firms are so difficult to break into, I've also set up interviews with finance and estate firms. The roles I'd fill here would not be legal whatsoever -- probably admin or assistant positions.

My question: Is it worth it to have non-legal work experience on my CV? Would this genuinely help my future applications for law internships, vacation schemes, and training contracts? Of course, I would take a position with a law firm in a heartbeat, but if I hypothetically only received a job offer from a non-law firm, would it be helpful?

Note: I am applying for work experience instead of law internships because all of the local opportunities are exclusive to second and third-year students.
