Is Shands VPN only for hospital staff?
I recently heard about Shands VPN in the context of accessing medical systems remotely. From what I understand, it is likely a private VPN used by staff to securely access hospital or university health network resources from outside the facility.
I assume this type of VPN is strictly for authorized employees and tied to internal authentication systems. It probably is not meant for general privacy or browsing protection like commercial VPN services.
If anyone here works in healthcare IT, is Shands VPN typically just a secure remote access solution for internal applications and patient systems? I am curious how these institutional VPNs differ from consumer ones in practice.
