If a girl text "Thinking of you today" and miss you, is it wrong to have interpret that romantically?

So long story short this woman didn't like me. So that is answer lol. But in the past she text me this and I thought it might had been clues.

For context, this woman is a classmate that we have hung out a few times. We have texted and shot the breeze. But we were never close friends. At best, causal friends

We stop talking once classes ended and I got a gf. She randomly hit me up with the thinking of you text and ask me how i been. My gf didn't like that at all since she text it at 9 at night and it was too random.

The second text was very recent after I broke with my gf. I haven't talk to her for 6 months. I had text her and said I hope you are doing well! She text back I hope you are doing well also and miss you! I text back saying miss you too. We can catch up later.

She just like the message. Now I wasn't trying to hit on her but I didn't really know how to respond when she said miss you after than saying we can catch up. Anyway I ended up running into her and she was kinda an asshole to me. She just starting making fun of me in front others and she didn't seem like she wanted to catch up at all. I might be taking it a bit more personal but it still bother me that is how she responded after we didn't talk for months.

So I'm prob done trying to stay in touch since she seems like she doesn't want it. But I feel crazy because why did she even text me miss you or thinking of you today knowing we haven't talk in months. I also had a gf at the time. And she has a bf as well.
