How do I talk about my social life without talking about kink?
So for some context, I (23F) am super close with my family and am super lucky to have a great relationship with them. I also now live in the same town as most of them meaning that we see each other a lot more often.
I’ve had a rough couple months and they’re naturally a bit worried about me and wanting to check in, which I appreciate. I’m honestly doing well mentally, in part due to exploring my new town’s kink community. I’ve met some awesome people and feel totally comfortable and accepted. I want to tell my parents that I’m feeling happy and making friends and being social, BUT for obvious reasons, I don’t want to tell them that I’m meeting these wonderful people through a bdsm/kink social club. I’m curious what other people tell family and friends and would love some advice!
I really love my family and want them to be involved in my life, so I want them to know that I’m doing well, I just don’t quite know how to explain it. Any thoughts and or recs?
(And yes, I know there are people who will read this and think “who cares what your family thinks”, but it’s really an issue of comfort. I don’t want them knowing about that part of my life (at least for now) )
