Why are the new pets already bad.. (values wise)

I was trying so hard to hatch sea turtles to make a neon to trade because I thought I would be able to get a cow from it, but then I checked elve and my jaw dropped. I started playing again when the Aztec eggs game out, so maybe this happened before, but my are the values of the new pets already not good, and the only good things are the mega legendary values. (Which barely anyone has).
