I'm a relatively new player (Oct 2025) from a rural area, with me being the only player outside of random tourists coming from a neighboring town. When the Kalos tour event was announced and the Mega Raid schedule came out, I planned out which raids to do for the sake of collecting mega energy and filling up my Pokedex with regionals. I especially wanted to be able to mega evolve my pseudos.

Unfortunately, it seems like the in-game RNG really favors the Super Mega Raids, Honedge and Pikachu over anything else. While I understand that's the intention, since they're the "stars" of the event, but it's been pretty disappointing that only one gym has a normal Mega. During some time frames, like for Kangaskhan and Tyranitar, there wasn't a single gym with them as bosses, and if I need to get more than 200 mega energy like for the pseudos, I'm forced to use a remote raid. I know that it's not a big deal, but being low on coins means that I really value any remote pass I have. Super Mega Raids are just a no go for me, since a lot of players are actively sabotaging them by not using their megas properly.

Has anyone else from a smaller town been experiencing something like that? Do you think it's worth just letting it slide and wait for the megas to come back, or should I remote raid them after all?
