Creative Growth In The New Album

I feel like Melanie is the type of artist who needs seclusion and time away from the fandom and music to really process and flesh out creative ideas and new music. I love portals because I felt like it was such a new step for Mel and a sign of exponential creative growth in the time that she was away.

However, I'm not so sure about this album, I feel like it doesn't really pick up the baton and move it much further (not that she needs to) but I just feel like there aren't many creative liberties being taken with this project. I can see that this is a new concept and something different from her previous works, but it also seems to reheat nachos that we've already seen before.

I feel like this album probably needed abit more time until Melanie could fully realize it creatively. Idk, that's just my perspective though.
