Has this happened to anyone else?
I 22f was diagnosed with Vasovagal syncope last year without any testing being done. I fainted 7 times over the course of 2025 and nearly fainted even more. I only felt lightheaded during them and had no other symptoms after gaining consciousness.
Since the beginning of the year I have experienced what I can only describe as feeling like I'm dying twice (once in January and one yesterday) I start feeling a bit dizzy, I start sweating really bad, the dizziness keeps getting worse, my ears start feeling fuzzy, my vision goes black, I start gasping for air, my arms and legs go numb, I can't talk or move, I feel like I'm on the verge of fainting, my whole body just feels wrong, and I have a sense of doom. I had to call 911 this time but by the time they got there symptoms had subsided and my BP and heart rate were normal again. They usually last about 5 or 6 minutes and I feel absolutely exhausted after.
I'm grateful my boyfriend has been home during both episodes because I can't stand up or walk on my own. I think I know what triggered both events, and I'm planning on getting myself a BP cuff and Fitbit to monitor my heart rate during an event.
I want to know if this is something anyone else has experienced? It's been scary because my brain is telling me that I'm dying over and over again, I know these are possible symptoms of what I have. I just want to see how other people experience symptoms.
