This game helped me so much.
So many post I see in here are complaints or criticisms so I thought I'd say something nice and see if others add in their nice stories!
So to start I have a disability, double vision. It's real hard for me to focus enough to see a single crosshair, usually I see a second ghost crosshair at the right hand side. So its rough learning and playing such a competitive FPS. But I need to train my eyes by focusing and developing the muscles to keep things in single vision, and I stupidly chose one of the sweatiest games to play about on while doing it! I also started playing this game in season 17 after watching Faide and His_Wattson, and coming from someone who grew up with Playstation and Xbox controllers and has never played keyboard and mouse properly until now its been a massive wake up! This is a whole other level of playing FPS!
Its been such a GRIND to learn this game, so many unbelieveably low K/D ratios at the end of the seasons, lots of hot drops with the team and dying instantly, so much of my brain was overstimulated learning ALL THE DIFFERENT THINGS about using cover, pre-firing, pushing, when to fall back. I never thought I would get decent at it. But I put the hours in, 1350 hours so far which I'm aware might be terribly low for some of you.
But... I'm starting to get decent! I've been aim-training, focusing on my eye exercises and putting in the hours to learn and work on my mistakes. And its working! It took so long but I'm getting decent damage in my games, like highest damage in the squad, I'm not able to 1v3 a whole team but I get DAMN CLOSE and usually die to the last person in the team.
This isn't a brag, I still suck and do stupid things and panic and throw the game and stuff, and my eyes still give out at times and make me whiff tracking enemies and things like that. But I'm having fun! I mean I clearly was having some kind of masochistic fun learning the game and grinding though all those seasons of being god awful at the game, but now its a massive difference from where I was when I can actually try and strategize against the enemy team, hold positions, push on knocks and actually win 1v1s!
TDLR games gets more fun when you play it more I should know this right? But I just wanted to share how happy I am that the eye exercises and constant practise actually pays off eventually, hopefully it inspires some other people!
