first time taking an ipill, how bad is it?

me and my boyfriend had sex last night. we went for the pull out method, i know. dumb. people learn from mistakes. so i'm contemplating on taking the pill tomorrow just as a precautionary measure. to the people who have taken it, how bad are the side effects? im a bit scared. how bad can it be?
