Quick but Not Unhealthy Breakfast Ideas for a Snacking Kid?

Diet & Nutrition

One of our kids has a great oatmeal routine every day, but our two younger ones are snackers (one who outright refuses oatmeal). And their breakfasts tend to consist of a bunch of snacks. Snacks that are OK every now and then in and of themselves, but together it adds up to a fairly sugary breakfast. Combinations of fruit snacks/strips, cereal bars, granola bars, yogurt pouches, apple sauce, etc.

We're not obsessive about avoiding sugar or processed foods or anything like that. That's not the angle I'm taking here. Just when you look at the back of the labels on these things, 5g, 9g, 14g, 10g, etc... the sugars add up.

I want to find something better for them. But there's a couple practical realities too. Convenience is important. Our mornings (and all the rest of the day too, sigh) are always crazy. And I can't snap my fingers and turn them into kids who are going to sit down and eat a bowl of oatmeal or whatever. Need something that can transition them from this snack buffet to these better options.

Might be asking for something that doesn't exist with those two practical requests in mind, but figured I'd take a chance. Any thoughts? Anybody dealt with anything similar?
