XLR Mic using XLR to USB C cable Showing Up As Headphones

As title states, I recently bought an XLR mic (it doesn't require 48V Power) also before people tell me to update my OS and drivers, uninstall/reinstall from device manager, etc. I have over 15 years working in IT and software development. I did all the troubleshooting you'd expect, to no avail. In Windows Sound settings it shows up as USB Headphone. Would like some suggestions/ideas. I found similar threads but nothing matching this exacly (esp. cuz of the cable)
