Realistic Expectations?

Like many people, I’m getting back into the hobby after a hiatus. After a few weeks of learning the realities of getting products (near me, at least) I think it’s time to readjust my expectations.

I tried the latest Pokemon Center drop and it didn’t work out for me 🤷‍♂️ but I’m wondering if my expectations are: keep trying Pokemon Center, Target, Walmart online drops. Miss a bunch of release days (in store). Catch a random vending machine W. Not chase the hype. Not financially ruin myself. Rip packs with my family. Buy a single if I really want it. Pop in a store here and there (Barnes & Noble, really).

Am I setting myself up for constant disappointment or a healthy relationship with the way things are?
