Developing a map-based social app and looking for beta users
Hey everyone,
I’m building a map-based social app and I’m looking for early testers who enjoy breaking things and giving honest feedback.
Core idea:
- You can drop a text post where your location currently is (not tied to venues)
- Posts disappear after 24 hours
- You can post anonymously or reveal your profile
- You can switch between public mode or friends-only mode
- Profiles exist, but the feed is driven by places and interaction — not follower counts
The interesting part is the map logic (trend algorithm):
When you zoom out, you only see the highest-engagement post in that region. As you zoom in, more local posts gradually reveal themselves.
So if you zoom out to Europe, you see what trended most there in the last 24h.
It’s not a check-in app. It’s not a review platform. It’s more like temporary location-based text graffiti.
Use cases are intentionally open: events, traffic updates, random thoughts, trolling, dating, hyperlocal conversations.
I’d love feedback on:
- Does this feel useful and fun or just novel?
- Is the 24h limit good or too short?
- Should it lean more into anonymous or social/friends mode?
- Is there any bug or exploit?
Happy to share the link in comments if allowed.
