Walking Street age restriction
I know the whole age thing has probably been asked here hundreds of times before, but honestly I couldn’t find a clear answer I could really trust and feel comfortable with.
My friend and I are going to stay in Pattaya for 1/2 weeks, and we’re both 18. Since the legal drinking age in Thailand is 20, we’re wondering how this affects getting into clubs and buying alcohol.
Here in Miami, even though we’re under 21, there are a ton of ways to get into places and access alcohol. What’s it like in Thailand?
Some people said you can just keep a photo of your passport on your phone and edit the age, assuming showing a photo is enough. Others said no one really cares, and as long as you look old enough at 18, they won’t bother checking. Also some people told me that its stricter in walking street, and that I should look for other places to have fun.
Everyone says something different and I still haven’t gotten a clear answer. I know there’s probably no single correct answer since everyone’s experiences are different, but is there anyone who really knows the Walking Street well or has been in the same situation as me? We just want to have fun with girls and drink alcohol thats it.
Also, if you have any tips or advice unrelated to this, I’d be happy to hear them.
