Epidural injection worsening ?
Hi guys,
I have a very shitty back and general health is just as shitty, I won’t go into details it would be too long listing everything.
I had an epidural corticosteroid injection the 25th for a herniated disk compressing my nerve in L5 since October 2025.
No anesthetic. The doctor was a pure asshole and I am actually probably going to press charges considering what happened during the procedure (he refused to stop even tho I begged him multiple times to stop, and was having uncontrollable spams in my legs).
Fact is, he poked my nerve 4 times trying to get the needle in (he poked around 6 times in total). It wasn’t until he injected the contrast product to check the final needle position, that I honestly thought I was going to die. I suffer from CRPS Type 2 on my left side, and it made it flare up too.
Anyway. I could barely walk once the procedure was done, from pain and from la k of strength in my legs. The next day, my left leg quieted down to my usual CRPS pain, but I lost any need to go to pee, even tho I drank a lot. I had to force myself to go, it was very hard (but not painful).
Fast forward to today, I can still barely walk, even tho I regained some strength in my legs. Now the pain is in both my legs like the regular sciatica, but so much worse than before the injection. My upper back hurt too now.
He told me the pain would stop after three days, and that I could resume my activities after three bed rest day. It’s the fourth day, and like I said walking is very difficult from the pain, and sitting is out of the question.
I know corticosteroids can take a while to hit, but considering the messy procedure and the symptoms I exhibited…. Well I was just wondering if this is all normal timing and I basically just have to wait ? Or should I go to my doc ?
