The switching is busted

Your opponent could be 1v1 against the CB on his way to score and the game won't let you switch to him. The feint red triangle (that indicates the next player upon switch) could be on his very head, and for some reason it switches to some random.

I'm spending half the time trying to switch, even the right stick is off. it would switch to the person in the same direction but on the other side of the field
