Chest pains from anxiety & caffeine
Last Friday I ended up going to my doctors due to ongoing chest pain. She ended up sending me to the hospital as my heart rate was very high, which I think was due to my anxiety.
They did and ecg, blood test and a chest x-ray. All of which came back clear apart from my bloods which showed a slight viral infection.
The doctor at the hospital said that the probable cause was me drinking energy drinks (caffeine) and told me to stop drinking them.
It’s now a week later, I still have left sided chest pain on and off, but not as bad just a slight ache and sometimes the squeezing pain and heart palpitations comes back.
I’m still so anxious that’s it’s my heart even though I’ve had all the tests and they have come back clear. I think deep down I know it’s my anxiety causing most of it as when I’m very busy and distracted the chest pains go away, but if I’m sat doing nothing in my own thoughts that’s when they start.
I think part of it is that I’m getting very anxious that I’ll have to go back in hospital as I hate them. Please can I have some reassurance.
