Parking tips for Makaya McCraven at The Basement East (Nashville 03/04)
getting out to see makaya mccraven at the basement east on 03/04 is going to be sick but if you have been to east nashville lately you know the parking situation in five points is a total headache. the venue itself is tucked into a busy spot and their own lot is basically off limits for fans since it is usually reserved for the band and crew.
if you want to avoid the stress of hunting for a spot honestly you should check out Prked first. you can find people nearby who rent out their driveways or private parking spaces through the app. it is way cheaper than the commercial lots that charge a fortune and you get to skip the traffic mess and just take a short walk to the show.
outside of that your best pro tip is the fireman's credit union lot right across the street. they let people park there for free after they close from 6 pm to 3 am but it is the first place to fill up so you need to be there right at 6:00 pm to have a chance. whatever you do do not park in the east station parking lot because they are super aggressive with towing and you will definitely lose your car. there is also a pay lot next door at wework and a couple other surface lots like the backfield lot at 920 woodland or the one at 10th and woodland but they use those qr code systems like metropolis and they will boot you the second your time runs out.
for street parking your best bets are usually mcferrin ave and 9th street south. you can also try cruising around russell street but you have to be really careful there. some blocks are totally fine and others are strictly residential permit only and the signs can be easy to miss if you are in a rush. if you find yourself parking a few blocks deep into the neighborhood just make sure you dont leave anything sitting in your seats. east nashville is mostly cool but car break-ins happen if you leave bags or phones out in plain sight.
since the show starts at 8:00 pm try to get to the area early and grab food at 5 points pizza or a burger at bad luck burger club across the street while you wait for doors to open. traffic around five points can get really backed up on a wednesday evening with people heading out for dinner so give yourself an extra fifteen minutes to navigate the woodland street bottleneck. hope this helps and have a great time at the show.
