I dont know if i like drawing or not
Im starting to doubt if i actually like drawing or not ive always told myself that my hobby is drawing as a kid i would draw and than move on but im not a small kid anymore so i wanted to learn to actually draw i tried youtube tutorials i failed than i got an art teacher online she was a genuinely wonderfull person with great drawing skills but not a good teacher not really good at explaining
So i cancelled her lessons and stopped drawing for a while maybe a year until i started again recently its been months since i started to draw again along the way i got frustrated and wanted to quit again but i kept going and felt like i was genuinely improving i watched every art youtuber i could draw like a sir mikeymegamega proko marc brunet pikat and a few others i felt good i felt like i was actually improving but i genuinely hated studying art it was boring and not fun i hated anatomy and shading but i pushed through it
But i recently learned that i never really did improve i understand how things like perspsctice and shading work but i cant draw them ive spent months drawing yet all my drawings still look flat they look 2d alot of art tutorials say to "think in 3d" but i cant i cant envision something as 3d i try to draw something 3d follow each step but it still looks 2d ive spent months learning to draw but my skill level is the same as 5 years ago i feel stuck i feel like im never going to improve maybe i dont have the eye for it or the talent for it i want to draw to be good at it but its frustrating seeing no improvement alot of people say you shouldnt compare your progress to others but how can i not when i see people who just start out draw leauges better than me in a month or even less time
Ultimately the main thought im having is that maybe i never did enjoy drawing maybe i only thought i did i love seeing fan art and other peoples drawing i wanted to draw my ocs draw my favorite characters a few comics but maybe im not cut out for this maybe i never liked drawing im not sure anymore
