Is this even legal?

So.... I am unfortunately going to Sri Chaitanya for intermediate education. I wrote the test in some under-construction building, inside a literal staff room. They took my details and later we took admission as well. But, ever since, somehow random solicitors (2 till now) came from other colleges to our LITERAL HOME. We did not give any of our information to those 2 colleges nor did we ever hear their names. But they had our fucking ADDRESS. And, they entered into the building by saying that they came to see my dad. Is it legal for colleges and people to misuse my home address for fucking canvassing? Sorry for posting here again but it's quite concerning/
