Quick question: Does VA cover 100% of surgery costs for a recently medically separated Marine?

Health Care :caduceus:

Helping a recently separated veteran (Marine) navigate an ankle surgery. The injury is service-connected.

I’ve heard that as a medical discharge, he should have 100% coverage. Can anyone confirm if this includes everything associated with the surgery if he goes through Community Care? Are there any specific things we should check on his Authorization Letter to ensure he won't get billed by the private clinic?

Trying to make sure we have all our ducks in a row before the procedure. Thanks for the help!
