OEM vs Aftermarket Parts does it matter?

Looking for some guidance. My 2018 touring is having what I’m pretty sure is an issue with the power lift gate struts. The PLG fuse is fine. I’m trying to save some $ because I hear it’s a $1,000+ dollar job so I’m going to do it myself. The OEM pair is like $500 bucks compared to $150 for the aftermarket parts. Will I regret not getting the Mazda part since I open the trunk multiple times a day (it will get lots of use)?
