Guidance/insight requested

I made it to room 46 roughly 80% on my own with a little puzzle help from the Internet. Unfortunately, I know the giant secret and goal of the game. Once I realized that making it to room 46 is just a tip of the puzzle iceberg, I decided to start a completely new play through and make it a point to find the solution for everything either again or on my own, even the stuff that I already knew. (For example, I knew to break the vase to get a microchip but I didn't do it until I found the clue in the book I had to purchase from the bookshop.)

However, as I’m going through the game a second time I keep looking for hints that will point me toward the final end goal and I’m just not finding anything. I don’t think I’m terrible at this game because I have figured out a significant portion of it on my own. Consequently, I’m trying to figure out A) I’m not actually very good at this or B) I have a lot further to go in the game before I start getting hints about the big picture or C)I am just missing something I should have already observed.

Thus far I have all the permanent additions and have about 8 crates left in the tunnel. I have four trophies. I start each day with an allowance of 51 and have 63 stars. My power hammer lives in the coat check room so it will be available if needed. I have opened two inner sanctum doors and found the sigil solutions and know the location of at least two more keys. I feel like I am making progress getting stuff done but the absence of clues is making me wonder if I am just missing it or just haven't gone far enough.
