Quick question: Does VA cover 100% of surgery costs for a recently medically separated Marine?
I’m helping a friend who was recently medically separated from the Marines. He needs ankle surgery for a service-connected injury and we are currently starting the VA enrollment process.
My main question is about the financial side: Does the VA cover 100% of the surgical costs (including anesthesia, hospital fees, and PT)?
Also, if he qualifies for a Community Care referral because of wait times, does the $0 out-of-pocket coverage still apply? We want to make sure there are no surprise co-pays or bills later on. Any advice on how to verify his priority group or coverage status during enrollment would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
