Wisdom tooth swelling.

Hi, I had a dentist appointment last Friday to ask about my wisdom tooth.

I’ve had issues since summer when it first erupted and I had a fat infection with it leaking puss, I didn’t go to the dentist. It’s grown since then and the gum is detached around the tooth.

At the dentist he said I’m right that it’s stuck as it’s fully sideways with the good news being it won’t fully come out and the bad news that it’s stuck and unless I take good care of it it’s going to keep getting infected and hurting me.

Currently it doesn’t hurt I just really baby it and have to be careful eating on that side so food doesn’t get stuck and I don’t bite down on my gums.

Now that’s all fine, other than I’m worried as he’s told me my top tooth will do the same soon.

But, my face has been noticeably swollen since it erupted, and I’m getting insecure. He told me they won’t take it out or refer me to do so as it’s complicated and they’d need to take out other teeth to get to it.

Is there anything I can do at home about my face ? Ibuprofen don’t make it go down, it doesn’t hurt, but I’m tired of looking wonky.

Someone at university point blank pointed out my face was swollen so I know it’s not in my head.
