Non Profit / Government roles that provide a good accounting skillset?
I've been working at my current job for a little over 3 years and have tried to apply elsewhere.
Ideally I would stick to non profit or government roles only because I need to stay on public service loan forgiveness and those types of jobs qualify.
I got the itch to just apply for any job and really came to a realization that my current skillset doesn't seem to be all that attractive in accounting. I have tailored my resume so I do not think that's the cause of this. I think it's just the fact that my experience heavily relies on accounts payable coding.
Although my current title is accounting, my job is 98% accounts payable processing. The other 2% is creating requisitions, doing minor month end expensing, and that's about it.
Are there any jobs you would recommend I apply to where I can stay on loan forgiveness but also get a valuable skillset?
Thank you.
