Coping
Im in all sorts of stages of grief. For the past 6 years I've been my father's primary caregiver and I also taken on the role to help him with my aging grandparents. My grandmother passed away on Wednesday. I have all sorts of emotions going on for sure we had our differences but for the most part I realized she just wanted the best for me. I feel so guilty because my father's situation is so complex I only made it to the facility a few times a month because I would miss a week here and there due to hospitalizations and burnouts. I've realized time is not something to waste. I feel so guilty but she refused to come home and sometimes I would take a break because of resentment. What's life like after caregiving am I going to feel guilty forever the only thing that helps is in the recent weeks I've been alot more hands on with her but due to terrible weather on the east coast I still didn't spend as much time with her as I'd like.
